The knives made by Kanetsune remain true to 800-years of expert swordmaking in Seki in terms of their delicate feel, aura of dignity, stately presence, and absolute sharpness.
Many of the knives are made of blue steel, a type of ultra-high carbon steel. Blue steel, which has been used for creating Japanese hunting knives since ancient times, has long-lasting sharpness and is very resistant to corrosion. This knife, the Take, is made of 15-layers of Blue Steel, in a beautiful damascus pattern. The maker's mark is etched into the blade. The handle is made of bamboo.
